Take a look at this presentation (March 2017) by Victoria Treadway showing how the LKS in the North West are supporting managers.
Ideas around developing the role of "healthcare management librarian".
A recent request to LIS-Medical around ward rounds came up with the following set of tips for Clinical Librarians:
- Most search requests received during ward rounds are not urgent / immediate so can be done back at the librarian’s desk. However, you can start searches during the round or quickly find information for unasked questions.
- Be proactive in prompting queries / offering to find evidence for topics of discussion.
- Use ward rounds to build relationships with staff and to raise awareness about how you can support them.
- Ward rounds are also an excellent learning opportunity for librarians, so listen out, ask questions, and talk to people.
What can "management librarians" learn from this?
